The Songwriting Contest is closed!

Thank you to everyone who particiapted in the first annual songwriting contest! Judges are reviewing the entries now and winners will be notified on Friday, September 21st.

Songs must be submitted by Monday September 10th in MP3 format.

A $10 entry fee and application must be submitted per song entry. Each entry must be individual and separate. Enter as many songs as you would like. Entry fees for multiple entries may be combined into one payment.

No booked performer or member of a booked band for Harvest 2012 will be allowed to enter.

Acoustic lyrical songs only.

Songs must be less than five minutes in length.

Contestants may play the song solo or have a maximum of one person to accompany them. This rule applies for both submitting the song and presenting it onsite.

Song entry must match performer's capability. You must enter the song in the same way you will be allowed to present it if you win.

Lyrics must mention one of the following subjects:

• Harvest Music Festival
• Mulberry Mountain
• Yonder Mountain

Lyrics must be typed out and submitted along with the song.

Songs will be judged on originality, melodic, and lyrical content and WILL NOT be judged on performance. The point system used for judging is shown below, with a maximum of 500 points available.

1. Song Originality -- 100 points
2. Melodic Presence -- 100 points
3. Quality of the Lyric Hook -- 100 points
4. Quality of Lyric Subject Matter -- 100 points
5. Quality of Lyric Structure -- 100 points

Entrants retain all rights to their songs.

We will announce the winner of the songwriting contest via the Harvest Facebook shortly after the entry deadline (September 10th) and will contact the winners of the contest via telephone and/or email.
